Lights, camera, action! 🌟 Our 11th-grade students presented their incredible talent and creativity at the Short Film Fest, with original short films that were entirely written, directed, and edited by them. 🎬

Through this project, students explored the art of storytelling while developing essential skills in scriptwriting, cinematography, teamwork, and post-production. Each film reflected their unique perspectives, voices, and ability to connect with audiences through powerful narratives. 🎥✨

This festival was a true celebration of creativity and student agency, highlighting the impact of project-based learning and the magic that happens when ideas come to life on screen. Congratulations to our young filmmakers for their outstanding work!

📚✨ Turning Pages, Creating Memories 🔖

Our Reading Month in AIS has come to a closure with a happy ending! March was a journey filled with stories, imagination, and meaningful literary experiences across all grade levels. 💙📖

Our 4th grade students were thrilled to see their creativity come to life with the physical launch of The Courage Chronicles, a book developed by the Graphic Design team at the Innovation Center in collaboration with the English Department. Watching their own stories materialized in print was truly unforgettable. 📙

Elementary students who read the highest number of books during the month were also able to enjoy a special celebratory picnic filled with games, food, and smiles, honoring their dedication and love for reading. 🌟

We were also honored to welcome author Maria Daniella Janne, who delighted our youngest Pre Primary students with a reading of her book “Enriqueta aprende una nueva palabra”.

To conclude this literary celebration, our Book Club hosted an inspiring Book Talks panel featuring renowned authors David Sandoval, Maria Daniella Janne, Cristian Verbel, and Laura Busche, engaging high school students in a meaningful dialogue about the transformative power of reading. 📚✨

Reading Month reminded us that books connect generations, ignite imagination, and empower voices, leaving a lasting impact on our entire community. 🏫🎒

🐝 Spelling Bee Finals: Words that Shine

Our Primary community celebrated the final round of the Spelling Bee and Concurso de Deletreo, where students from 2nd to 6th grade displayed their skills in both English and Spanish. 📚✨

Through confidence, preparation, and a love for language, our students demonstrated their growing mastery of words, pronunciation, and spelling in two languages. We are proud of their effort, dedication, and courage on stage. 💬🌟

These type of activites are such a wonderful celebration of language, learning, and student achievement, which teach students about vocabulary and helps them understand their languages better! 👏

This event took place in Colegio Minuto de Dios in Bogotá. 🚀

Pop-Up Playground / Mundo de la madera 🪵🛠️

En todos los espacios que creamos desde la Pre-Primaria y a nivel institucional, buscamos partir de elementos vinculados a la investigación pedagógica y a aquellos aspectos que consideramos fundamentales para el desarrollo de nuestra comunidad educativa. Este espacio hace parte de las múltiples interacciones y proyectos que buscan acercar a los niños y a las familias a experiencias que estimulen el desarrollo integral. 🧸

Hoy partimos de una premisa clara: el juego. Sabemos que el juego es un elemento esencial de nuestra sociedad que nos permite encontrarnos, crear, inspirarnos y asombrarnos. Además, este proyecto se convierte en un eje articulador de muchos de los proyectos que se desarrollan en los salones, ya que las provocaciones y el uso de piezas sueltas son fundamentales para estimular los diferentes campos del desarrollo infantil. 🧩

Entendemos que la resolución de situaciones fuera del contexto tradicional del aula favorece la conexión entre lo que se aprende y para qué se aprende. Asimismo, crear propuestas donde el espacio cambia y, por lo tanto, el ambiente también se transforma, estimula de manera holística los procesos de aprendizaje. También es importante tomar conciencia de que muchos de los elementos sueltos más interesantes y valiosos son aquellos que nos rodean diariamente en la naturaleza, el campo o la ciudad. En este caso, la madera nos acerca a ideas relacionadas con el pensamiento ecológico, ya que los desechos generados fueron mínimos. ✂️🗞️

El uso de piezas sueltas como madera, cuerdas, tornillos y palitos permite propuestas interdisciplinarias donde los materiales y las interacciones se convierten en elementos clave para crear espacios que desarrollen la creatividad y el asombro, entendiendo que no todos los entornos invitan a participar, pero los ambientes creativos sí lo hacen. 🪛

Creer, crecer y crear desde el juego, en un plano donde el adulto puede acompañar y ser parte del proceso, fortalece la idea de familia. Somos familia cuando nos apoyamos, cuando creamos juntos y cuando compartimos especialmente en ambientes creativos.

🌟 Leadership in Action 🗣️

In AIS we strive to teach our students the skills that will help them use their voice, take initiative, and become individuals who make a difference wherever they go. For this reason, we held an important workshop on our main value: Leadership.

Our members of the National Honor Society and Student Council participated in this activity where they had the opportunity to learn from three guest speakers who shared their experiences, challenges, and lessons about leading with purpose. 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

Throughout this experience, students reflected on what it truly means to be a leader, not just having a title, but serving others, making responsible decisions, working as a team, and inspiring positive change in their community. 🎤

We are proud to continue creating spaces where our students grow not only academically, but also as leaders with values, empathy, and vision for the future. 🚀
